Position: Non-Profit Development Intern

Report To: Director of Development

Hourly Requirements: 12 Hours/Week

Start Date: Sept. 3

End Date: Dec. 19

Compensation: $500 Stipend

Position Summary

Our non profit organization, led by Senator Raymond Lesniak, is looking for a Non-Profit Development Intern to join our growing team. The ideal applicant will possess skills in market research and database management,  and competence in Google Suite. The successful candidate will support the identification of grant making institutions, support assessing organizations relevance through primary and secondary research, support the development of an in-house fundraising plan, and support the  development of a grant application and communications plan, as well as, in managing databases and communications (query letters.). Those looking to gain valuable experience in managing nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills ( including emailing)
  • In-depth working knowledge of Google Suite
  • Relative courses and experience in non-profit or business management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated interest in financial and business management

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support identification of grant making institutions

The ideal applicant will possess skills in event planning, networking, and competence in Google Suite. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining communication with local community and educational organizations, assisting in planning events and service projects, and managing databases and email content. Those looking to gain valuable experience in managing nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including professional emailing)
  • In-depth working knowledge of Google Suite
  • 2+ years’ experience in event planning and/or business management
  • Knowledge of nonprofit business management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of current events and politics

  • Create and manage events and service projects
  • Creating advocacy training content
  • Prepare advanced memos
  • Managing contests
  • Build and update lists and databases of local community and educational organizations

Position: Public Relations Specialist, Intern

Report To: Director of PR & Social Media

Hourly Requirements: 12 Hours/Week

Start & End Date: Sept 3 - Dec 19

Compensation: $500 Stipend

Position Summary

Our non profit organization, led by Senator Raymond Lesniak, is looking for a Public Relations Specialist Intern to join our team this summer. The ideal applicant will possess strong writing and communication skills knowledge in community outreach and media. The selected candidate will be flexible and able to attend Institute events. Those looking to gain valuable online and in-person, media experience are encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Communication or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge in Google Suite
  • Knowledge of basic AP style rules
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (LightRoom, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred
  • Passion for the PR industry and its best practices

  • Create and distribute press releases
  • Assist in administrative duties
  • Build and update media lists and databases
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend various events
