Position: Service Specialist Intern

Compensation: $800 Stipend

Position Summary

Our non profit organization, led by Senator Raymond Lesniak, is looking for a Service Specialist Intern to join our growing team. The ideal applicant will possess skills in event planning, networking, and competence in Google Suite. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining communication with local community and educational organizations, assisting in planning events and service projects, and managing databases and email content. Those looking to gain valuable experience in managing nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Skills

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including professional emailing)
  • In-depth working knowledge of Google Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of current events and politics

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning events and service projects
  • Creating advocacy training content
  • Preparing meeting minutes and agendas
  • Make phone calls to supporters and community leaders

The ideal applicant will possess strong writing and communication skills knowledge in community outreach and media. The selected candidate will be flexible and able to attend Institute events. Those looking to gain valuable online and in-person, media experience are encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Communication or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge in Google Suite
  • Knowledge of basic AP style rules
  • Knowledge of Canva preferred
  • Passion for the PR or Social Media industry and its best practices
  • Passion for Advocacy

  • Create and curate engaging content
  • Blog writing
  • Create press releases
  • Design graphics
  • Build and update media lists and databases
  • Coordinate and attend various events as a public relations professional

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (LightRoom, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred
  • Skills in photography and/or videography preferred

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Capture photo and video
  • Create video storyboards
  • Creation motion graphics
  • Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas
  • Create engaging social media content
  • Provide support to our social media team at live events
