Position: PR and Social Media Manager

Report To: Director

Salary: $40,000

Position Summary

Our non profit organization is looking for a Public Relations and Social Media Manager to join our team. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge in the digital media landscape, event planning and community outreach, and team leadership. To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized, have great time management skills and be able to work with autonomy. Those looking to create a meaningful change in their community while gaining valuable online and in-person, media experience are encouraged to apply. 

 

Qualifications/Skills

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Communication or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage interns
  • Works collaboratively with a team mindset
  • Knowledge of current events and politics
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (LightRoom, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred
  • Skills in photography and/or videography preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating email campaigns and quarterly newsletters

  • Maintaining relationships with press contacts

  • Creating Press Releases
  • Maintaining brand and brand voice

  • Oversee all social media content through managing interns, organizing and scheduling posts

  • Organize and oversee social media engagement strategy

  • Take advantage of Senator Raymond Lesniak’s social media accounts to promote Institute content

  • Maintain relationships with the public through email engagement

  • Manage all communication with the public

  • Oversee and create graphics for social media

  • Manage blog content schedule

  • Create meaningful learning experiences for PR and Social Media interns

  • Direct Institute videos, through working with our video team

  • Plan small donor fundraisers on digital landscape

  • Build and update media lists and databases

  • Lead organizer for the Lesniak Institute annual gala

  • Interpret analytics to improve social media strategy

  • Lead team building exercises

  • Lead organizar for annual report

Compensation: $500 Stipend

Hours: 12 Hours/Week

Position Summary

Our non profit organization, led by Senator Raymond Lesniak, is looking for a Service Specialist Intern to join our growing team. The ideal applicant will possess skills in event planning, networking, and competence in Google Suite. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining communication with local community and educational organizations, assisting in planning events and service projects, and managing databases and email content. Those looking to gain valuable experience in managing nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Skills

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including professional emailing)
  • In-depth working knowledge of Google Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of current events and politics

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning events and service projects
  • Creating advocacy training content
  • Preparing meeting minutes and agendas
  • Make phone calls to supporters and community leaders

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Communication or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge in Google Suite
  • Knowledge of basic AP style rules
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (LightRoom, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred
  • Passion for the PR or Social Media industry and its best practices
  • Passion for Advocacy
