Position Summary

The Lesniak Institute for American Leadership, led by Senator Raymond Lesniak, is seeking a motivated Service Specialist Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning, networking, and proficiency in Google Suite. This role involves maintaining communication with local community and educational organizations, assisting in the planning and execution of events and service projects, and managing databases and email campaigns. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit management.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including professional emailing
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of current events and politics is preferred but not mandatory

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing events and service projects
  • Develop and create advocacy training content
  • Assist the Executive Director with a variety of tasks, including research, writing, and project management
  • Prepare meeting minutes and agendas
  • Communicate with supporters and community leaders through various channels (e.g., phone, email, social media)

The Lesniak Institute for American Leadership, led by former Senator Raymond Lesniak, is seeking a Public Relations Specialist Intern to join our team. The PR Specialist Intern focuses on curating campaigns revolving around our core causes, enforcing The Lesniak Institute brand and messaging across platforms, conducting research to develop campaigns, and managing outreach efforts. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about public relations, image, and branding within the nonprofit sector.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Communication or a related field
  • Experience in crafting PR Campaigns
  • In-depth understanding of social media platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Knowledge of basic AP style rules
  • Proficiency in Canva is preferred
  • Strong interest in the PR and Social Media industry, especially within the nonprofit sector

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating advocacy & core cause campaigns that reflect the Institute’s mission and values.
  • Working hand-in-hand with the Digital Marketing Specialist Intern to make sure campaigns and social content are cohesive
  • Appearing on camera for promotional videos and campaign posts
  • Building and maintaining media contact lists
  • Attending events as a representative of the Institute
  • Collaborating on communication strategies with the Institute's PR lead

Flexibility to attend Institute events is essential. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in both online and in-person media work, especially within the nonprofit sector.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, or Business Marketing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in using content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, Capcut)
  • Experience developing online content (scriptwriting, editing, photography, and videography)
  • Experience with Data Analytics throughout all platforms
  • Basic Understanding of SEO

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and videos at events for online campaigns
  • Edit video content for various platforms
  • Collaborate with the team to design, write, and produce online content for various platforms (scriptwriting, editing, photography, and videography)
  • Assist with research to make purposeful, curated advocacy content for all platforms
  • Utilize analytics tools to monitor campaign performance, gather insights, and provide actionable recommendations for optimization.
  • Provide support at live events (photos, videos, storytelling)
